At Ritual Wellness ATX we believe that gender diverse, trans, or non-binary persons should be supported in seeking gender affirming care. In support of our trans and non-binary community, we are now offering appointments for Gender Affirming Surgery Assessments.

We use an informed consent model meaning that you are respected as the expert on yourself rather than the therapist as the gatekeeper.  We are proud to offer services that reduce barriers and help clients live as their authentic selves.

Our letters are consistent with the standard of care, WPATH 7 and 8 Guidelines, used by most surgeons, and our doctorate level psychologists (PhD/PsyD) meet the requirements that most insurance companies have for bottom surgeries. With our letters, we can also demonstrate medical necessity for insurance coverage of services. Currently, most surgeons and/or insurance companies require 2 letters of support total (including one from a doctorate level provider).

Typically, only one appointment is needed to provide a letter, however, if additional information is needed then a follow-up appointment will be scheduled.

We are currently able to offer telehealth appointments for clients physically located in Texas, Colorado, and PSYPACT participating states. Please check the PSYPACT website to see if you are in a qualifying state. Keep in mind that where you are physically located at the time of the appointment determines if the clinician will be able to meet with you due to state licensing restrictions (i.e. it is determined by your physical location at the time of the session, not by your permanent or home address). 

* You do not have to be an established psychotherapy client of our practice to receive an assessment for gender affirming surgery.

* We are only able to offer gender affirming surgery assessments for clients that are 18+ years old at this time.
